I prefer to be called Kent and I’m a Web and Mobile application developer shuffle between Singapore and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh city). I also have a strong interest in interface design and user experience design.
It’s hard to summarise what I do with just one or two sentences, it’s a long story, buy me coffee and I’m more than happy to share. The bottom line: currently, I’m building my 3rd company Silicon Straits Saigon, a great team of developers based in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Silicon Straits Saigon is the software development arm of Silicon Straits mothership.
I used to work for Anideo, a company funded by Eduardo Saverin in 2011 & 2012.
I’m most familiar with Rails and iOS as my development platforms. My works cover all stages of application development, from requirement analysis to delivery; and I take users into great consideration before executing any feature. I always emphasis on great user experience rather than functionality. I am a perfectionist in my methodology and do not leave any work half-completed. Recently, I found myself to be doing more client-liaison and management tasks instead of actual coding.
I graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Computing (Honour) degree in December 2010, majoring in Information Systems. My Final Year Project was awarded Best FYP of The Year and featured on several local and overseas newspapers. Read it on Straits Time and VietnamPlus. If you have 2mins to spare, watch a short clip about the project here.
